Don’t Subcontract with the Contractor

Postal Service employees are prohibited from providing consultation, advice, or any subcontracting service to any person who has a contract with the Postal Service or might compete for a contract.
This includes consulting about postal operations, programs, or procedures.

Avoiding conflicting outside employment preserves the Postal Service’s reputation as being fair and honest.

And that’s smart business.

Lock it Before You Leave it

It’s not a TV screen at the airport. When you’re working on sensitive and sensitive-enhanced information at your computer, lock your screen when you step away. You don’t want passersby to get a glance — inadvertent or otherwise.
Lock your screen by pressing the Windows and “L” keys simultaneously. Unlock your computer screen by pressing the Ctrl + Alt and Delete keys at the same time.

Making a commitment to lock your computer whenever you leave your workstation safeguards data against unauthorized disclosure or misuse that could adversely impact postal operations and finances.

And that’s smart business.

When driving, don’t take your eyes off the road, your hands off the wheel or your mind off your primary task of driving safely. Any non-driving activity you engage in is a potential distraction and increases your risk of being involved in a crash that could kill or injure you or someone else, or cause property damage. No distractions — focus on driving!

Walk much?

Anticipate hazards as you’re walking. Slow down when you approach a corner. If you think a surface might be slippery, take short, sure steps instead of longer strides. Make sure you can see over the top of parcels you’re carrying. Keep one hand free to use handrails on stairways. Wear slip-resistant footwear, appropriate for the weather. Leather-soled shoes or high heels are especially hazardous in winter weather.

Following these tips will help keep you from a fall that could result in injury and lost work days.
