Employee Health Issues

Privacy, Please

Just because an employee tells you about a health issue doesn’t mean the employee wants everyone to know about it – and we have an obligation to keep private health information private.
Do not discuss employees’ health issues with anyone who doesn’t need to know.

Protecting the privacy of employees’ health information is the law.

Respecting employees’ privacy also contributes to a positive work environment.

And that’s smart business.

Respect the Customer

Let’s use kind words and have respect for our customers.
Everyone you see is a potential postal customer. We serve them all and are thankful for the business they bring to us.
As a representative of the Postal Service, make sure that you are respectful to our customers in words and deeds.

It’s about delivering great service and meeting customer expectations.

And that’s smart business.

All for safety — and safety for all.

A safe workplace is the result of collaboration between management and employees. Management commitment provides motivation, safety resources and training. Employee involvement provides the means through which personnel develop and express their own commitment to safety and health by working together to create a safe environment.

Proper footwear

How’s your arch support?

Wear proper footwear to reduce slips, trips and falls, and ease strained muscles. Shoes need to provide adequate cushioning and take care of your arches. This helps reduce fatigue and enables you to do your job more safely and efficiently.

Supervisors should periodically check to ensure employees are wearing approved footwear.

And that’s smart safety!
