Gifts from Outside Sources

Thanks, But No Thanks

Thanks, But No Thanks.
While there are some exceptions, you cannot accept a gift given to you because of your job.

Our customers, suppliers, and the public should know that they will be treated fairly and professionally no matter what. Accepting gifts leaves the opposite impression. Declining inappropriate gifts is not only the law, it’s smart business.

Contact the Ethics Office (ethics.help@usps.gov) for more information about the ethics regulations addressing gifts.

Respect the smoke-free zones.

Smoking is not permitted in any room, work area or section of any building leased or owned by the Postal Service. The no-smoking rule applies to enclosed and open-air platforms, ramps leading from those platforms and public lobbies. Smoking outdoors on USPS property is limited to designated smoking areas.

Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. If you smoke, think about quitting.
