Think about the company you keep

Current Postal Service employees are prohibited from working for companies that deliver mailable matter or for a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) in any capacity.

This includes competitors such as UPS, Amazon, DHL, or FedEx. The UPS Store is an example of a CMRA.
There is a limited exception. Some competitors have subsidiary companies that do not deliver mailable matter.
For instance, Amazon has subsidiary companies such as Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods. An employee may work for a subsidiary company as long as it doesn’t deliver mailable matter and the employee receives approval from the Ethics Office.

By ensuring that you avoid a conflict, you contribute to the success and future of the Postal Service.

And that’s smart business.

Using a Postal Service Voyager credit card to fuel your own vehicle is a misuse of government property.
Is it worth your job?

Using a Postal Service Voyager credit card to purchase gas for a postal vehicle rather than your own is smart business.

Being prepared for an emergency is about staying safe during a disaster. It’s also about how to stay comfortable, clean, fed and healthy afterward. If you lost power, your refrigerator wouldn’t keep foods cold. The microwave couldn’t heat them up. You might not get clean water out of your faucets. How would you find out whether it’s safe to play outside? Not from the TV or computer!

Build an emergency kit before an emergency strikes. Include enough nonperishable food, water, clothing and supplies to last for at least three days.

And that’s smart safety!

Restrain yourself — and your family.

Car crashes are the leading cause of death for age 4 and ages 11 through 27 in the United States, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Buckling up is the most important safety measure you can take to protect yourself in a crash. During a collision, wearing your seatbelt prevents you from hitting the windshield, steering wheel, door or something else. It also keeps you from being thrown from the vehicle.

You can be fined in 49 states for not wearing your seatbelt. Wearing seatbelts reduces injuries and saves lives and money.

And that’s smart safety!
