Gifts to Subordinates: Avoid Favoritism

There are no limits on gifts given down the chain of command.

That means a manager may give a subordinate employee a gift of any amount on any occasion, but they should be careful to avoid any appearance of favoritism.

Avoiding favoritism and workplace environment issues fosters a productive work environment.

And that’s smart business.

Voyager Cards

Not even a bag of chips

You may only use Voyager cards to purchase fuel and authorized repairs for postal vehicles.

You may not use Voyager cards to purchase fuel for a personal vehicle or buy drinks and snacks.

Even if you plan on paying the Postal Service back, violating this provision could result in corrective action and even criminal prosecution.

Only using a Voyager card for official purposes is not only the law, it’s smart business.
