Postal travel policy prohibits reimbursement for personal travel, even when you combine a vacation with postal business.
If you travel for work and extend your trip for personal reasons, you may not claim per diem expenses for the additional travel dates. In addition, you must take annual leave if the extended trip falls on a work day.
Following postal travel policy saves the Postal Service money – and that’s Smart Business.
Learn more about the Postal Service’s travel policy at Handbook F-15, Relocation and Travel.
If you think a record responsive to a FOIA request has been disposed of under a retention schedule or otherwise, check to make sure that’s actually happened. A FOIA requester can legally challenge the Postal Service’s decision, and if the record is later found not to have been disposed of, this could result in USPS expending additional time and expense to correct the deficiency.
Processing FOIA requests correctly the first time saves the Postal Service time and money.
A safe workplace is the result of collaboration between management and employees. Management commitment provides motivation, safety resources and training. Employee involvement provides the means through which personnel develop and express their own commitment to safety and health by working together to create a safe environment.
And that’s smart safety!
