Did you know that some information commonly collected from customers is considered “sensitive” and must be encrypted?
Common sensitive data elements include, but are not limited to, personal email addresses and a cell phone number that has a name collected at the same time.
Safekeeping of sensitive information is required by Postal Service regulations.
The Postal Service has a goal to reduce energy used in postal buildings.
Set thermostats correctly, shut off heating and cooling in unused areas, use power saving settings for office equipment, keep loading dock doors closed, unplug chargers and power cords, and install occupancy sensors.
Be prepared for emergencies on the road. Make sure you have fire extinguishers, jumper cables, roadside flares and a first-aid kit in your vehicle. In winter, add warm blankets, hand warmer packs, backup windshield scrapers and extra windshield washer fluid. Keep these items where you can get to them easily — and know how use them.
And that’s smart safety!

Smoking is not permitted in any room, work area or section of any building leased or owned by the Postal Service. The no-smoking rule applies to enclosed and open-air platforms, ramps leading from those platforms and public lobbies. Smoking outdoors on USPS property is limited to designated smoking areas.
Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. If you smoke, think about quitting.
