Work-related injuries and illnesses can affect every aspect of life for injured employees and their families. There’s pain and suffering because of the injury. There also could be loss of income, job or career, or the financial impact of medical bills not covered by insurance. There’s stress on relationships, and possibly permanent medical or mental health problems.

Providing a safe workplace not only helps protect a worker from injury and illness, it can decrease compensation costs, reduce absenteeism, increase productivity and raise employee morale.

Don’t slip slide away.

When leaves accumulate on the roadway and become wet, they’re extremely slippery. It’s a lot like driving on ice. When wet leaves freeze, it’s icy for real. Traction is reduced. Your car could skid. You could lose control of the vehicle. Leaves also can cover painted road markings, making it difficult to know where the proper lanes are.

Slow down if you’re driving on a road covered with leaves, especially on turns.
