Every day, the public entrusts a great deal of important information to the Postal Service. By law and good business practice, every postal employee has a duty to protect that information
Don’t put sensitive data on any device. Don’t store postal information on non-postal owned devices. Don’t remove information from postal premises without executive approval.

Complying with these security policies will help protect information resources, personal information, and the privacy of employees and customers.

Protecting that information enhances our reputation for integrity and trustworthiness.

And that’s smart business.

Who goes there?

Do your part to make sure facility security measures are followed.
Access to workroom and restricted areas is limited to authorized on-duty postal employees and authorized contractors. Anybody else must have legitimate business on the floor and be escorted.
Prevent unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas. This includes off-duty craft employees. Question anyone who doesn’t have an ID or escort.

Keeping employees, customers, and the mail safe and secure is a USPS priority.

And that’s smart business.

Who’s behind the wheel?

USPS motor vehicle safety programs ensure postal employees are qualified and trained to drive the vehicles they use in their daily work. Postal drivers must have valid driver’s licenses and acceptable driving records. In addition, postal employees are expected to make sure their vehicles are in good operating order. Conduct daily inspections according to Notice 76, Expanded Vehicle Safety Check. Report any defects using PS Form 4565, Vehicle Repair Tag.

USPS motor vehicle safety programs provide clear policies, promote safety and ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe condition.

Lead hazards

Take the lead out.

All Postal Service employees working with lead-based paint or lead-containing material must receive training in lead hazards and approved work practices. All work performed by contractors must be done in accordance with approved statements of work. Contractors must be monitored periodically to ensure their activities don’t create lead-based paint hazards and that they comply with OSHA regulations.

USPS informs employees, contractors and other building occupants of the presence of lead-based paint if they’re going to perform tasks that may create lead dust or fumes, and maintains lead-containing paint in good condition to keep it from becoming a hazard.
