Foreign Gifts
Minimal Defined
Postal Service employees may accept a courtesy gift from a foreign government if it’s of “minimal value.”
Currently, this means a U.S. retail value of $375 at the time of acceptance. Keep in mind, this figure changes every three years.
When you don’t solicit or accept prohibited gifts from a foreign government, you strengthen the Postal Service’s reputation as being a transparent, fair, and honest organization.
And that’s smart business.
Contact the Ethics Office (ethics.help@usps.gov) for guidance on gifts.
