Beware of accepting gifts from foreign companies

It’s an offer you need to refuse

Postal employees are sometimes offered gifts by nongovernmental, private sector foreign companies with which they interact, either here or abroad. This includes such things as meals, refreshments and/or entertainment.

The ethics gift rules can prohibit the acceptance of a gift from a foreign company. Never accept cash or a cash equivalent. If you’re offered a gift by a foreign company, check with the Ethics Office for advice on whether it can be accepted.

When you follow the ethics gift rules, you show our customers that postal employees have integrity and perform their duties impartially.

And that’s smart business.
